Rob Butler

“The Role of Naturalists in Reconnecting with Nature”

All who are interested in nature are part of a worldwide movement trying to reconnect with nature. From recycling, green cities, local food, ecotourism and birding, a market force for change is upon us. How we will reconnect with nature will require leadership from those who know nature best - the naturalist. Rob Butler, a Nature Vancouver naturalist for 50 years, will delight, inform and challenge us to embed nature in our culture.

Dr. Rob Butler is an ornithologist, biologist, author, artist and conservation advocate. He has conducted field research and advised governments, businesses and conservation organizations about birds and conservation for over 40 years. He has written for scientific journals, monographs, newspapers and popular magazines, and authored two books. Read more about Rob Butler on his website: www.robbutler.ca
